Katadyn Survivor

KatadynKatadyn Survivor manual desalinator/watermakers are designed for emergency use. They are trusted by militaries and outdoor adventurers the world over.

Compact and lightweight, the Katadyn Survivor 06 is the smallest handheld reverse osmosis desalinator in the world. It’s recommended for small emergency life rafts and individual survival kits, but also has applications for kayakers, wilderness campers and other outdoor adventurers.

Weighing just 1.13kg, it removes 98% of salt from seawater and has a throughput of 0.89 litres per hour.

Katadyn’s larger Survivor 35 model produces up to 4.5 litres of fresh water per hour – enough for multiple person life rafts. Widely used by the US military, the Survivor 35 is hand-pump operated, and like its smaller sibling, supplied with hoses and a filtered water intake. Weighing 3.2kg, it is popular with voyagers, sea-kayakers and adventures as soldiers.

Introducing Tecnoseal Anodes

Family-owned Italian company Technoseal Srl manufactures

and supplies sacrificial anodes for diverse marine and industrial applications. Lighthouse Marine Equipment Ltd is proud to supply Technoseal products for the New Zealand market.

Tecnoseal Srl is one of the world’s leading suppliers of sacrificial anodes for cathodic protection. They are manufacturers of zinc, aluminum and magnesium anodes for the leisure boat market, general shipping, and for offshore and industrial applications.

The Scotto family, whose passions were fuelled by a desire to produce a perfect, top-quality product, started Technoseal Srl in the 1970s. With over 30 years experience, the family still produces and supplies from their foundry in Grosseto (Tuscany, Italy).

Today, Tecnoseal Srl offers one of the largest anode ranges in the world, with almost 1000 standard anode types in production and more than 3000 custom-manufactured items.

Their anodes are manufactured entirely in the Grosseto foundry, from the mould design to the final product. The anodes’ quality is guaranteed by the processes, experience and preparation put in place by specialist engineers.

Dometic Eskimo Ice

Dometic Eskimo Ice EI250 compact crushed-ice maker has a small 407mm by 407mm footprint and weighs less the 40kg, making it ideal for boats with a big demand for ice but limited space.

Dometic Eskimo Ice crushed-ice makers are available in New Zealand through Lighthouse Marine Equipment Ltd.

The EI250 produces up to 113kg of crushed freshwater ice per day. The easy to install, self-contained units start producing ice within minutes of powering up and make it at a rate of more than 4.5kg per hour.

Featuring a pre-charged refrigeration system, water filter, improved freshwater float switch, start time delay, manual re-set after lock-out and photo-electric ice level sensor, it is available with up to two remotely-mounted digital display/user interface panels. Sensors monitor all of the Eskimo Ice’s functions and ventilated cover panels are removable to allow servicing from any side.

Dometic’s Eskimo Ice compact crushed-ice maker is also available in a slightly larger, higher capacity model. The 417mm by 417mm Eskimo Ice EI540D weighs 42kg and makes more than 10kg of ice per hour (245kg per day).

Both models also have the ability to make salt water ice provided they are flushed with fresh water after use.

Aqua Whisper DX watermakers

Made for the hands-on boater, the Sea Recovery Aqua Whisper DX allows you to customise features and pressure settings with an advanced touch-screen display, digital menu and pictorial images of operating conditions.

The Aqua Whisper DX watermaker monitors product water quality (salinity); displays scheduled service intervals, hours of operation and real-time flow/production rates; and comes computer interface ready.
Rugged, reliable and safe, the Aqua Whisper DX features a smooth, super-quiet stainless steel plunger pump purpose-designed for seawater reverse osmosis, a low noise manifold system, and vibration insulation mounts. A high efficiency booster pumps extends pre-filter life while a new high rejection/high yield membrane element produces higher quality fresh water in a small space. The fibreglass reinforced high-pressure membrane vessel is stronger and corrosion-proof.

Sea Recovery Aqua Whisper DX watermakers are supplied ready to install and begin making freshwater immediately – no need for optional or additional items. A complete installation kit is supplied, along with a detailed owner’s operation and maintenance manual.

There are six DX models with freshwater production ranging between 1703 and 6,814 litres per day.
